A good venue for contributions on “Embodied Bounded Rationality”

During the last decade, important empirical research has been conducted which reveals that learning en-actively in the sense of Jerome Bruner, that is by handling with our own hands and body is more effective than by means of interpreting merely iconic and symbolich representations. For instance finger-counting fosters arithmetic competencies in primary school more than mere calculations based on written numbers.


The research topic “Embodied Bounded Rationality” in Frontiers — coordinated by Riccardo Viale, Shaun Gallagher and Vittorio Gallese as Topic editors — will be devoted to research at the interface between Bounded Rationality and Embodied Cognition with obvious implications for Education.
